A place of meetings and projects, the Château de Thézan also opens its doors to contemporary art, wishing to continue its evolution and its history in order to anchor itself in the present.

For the 2023 season, we were pleased to present the work of the ceramist from Saint-Rémy-de-Provence: Caitriona Platts-Manoury

Caitriona studied ceramics at Central Saint Martins, London.

She lives and works in St Rémy de Provence.

In her own words, “I love working in clay, it’s such a versatile material and there’s something deeply satisfying in shaping something with one’s hands…”

All of Caitriona’s ceramics are hand-built and her creations are playful, tactile and joyfully vibrant.

Having participated in various shows, notably at

La Fondation Villa Datris, l’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue in 2022, Caitriona will be showing her totem sculptures in the Chateau de Thézan park during the summer of 2023.

Each ceramic element is slotted onto a stand suggesting an “endless column”…

These colorful sculptures are assembled with playfulness and humour.
